Lights for Mala

Thursdays, 7:30pm

Join us for Lights for Mala, a special three-part series Chevy is hosting in memory of a remarkable individual. This series is an expression of gratitude and reflection, inspired by Mala's values and the light she brought into the world.

WORKSHOP DATES:

  • Thursday, March 28

  • Thursday, April 4

  • Thursday, April 11

Tribute to Values: While the series takes inspiration from Mala, a woman of virtue who touched lives in her own meaningful ways, it aims to resonate with everyone, extending beyond those who knew her personally. It’s about celebrating the universal values of kindness, tradition, and community.
Jewish Women's Traditions: Delve into the timeless traditions upheld by Jewish women, exploring the significance and practice of lighting candles. Learn about this profound custom and its role in fostering peace, warmth, and light within our homes and hearts.
Special Memorial Gift: In honor of the series and the values it represents, participants will receive elegant silver candlesticks, along with Sandy’s handcrafted candles, to bring the tradition of light into their own spaces.
Community and Empowerment: Discover the empowering role of Jewish women through the tradition of candle lighting. This series offers a space for learning, reflection, and connection, inspired by the enduring impact of individuals like Mala and the collective heritage of our community.

This series is a personal endeavor to honor the memory of someone special while inviting all to explore and appreciate the profound traditions of Jewish women. Join us in this journey of learning, reflection, and communal warmth.

By the end of this series, you will leave with:

  • A deeper understanding of what Shabbat candles represent.

  • Practical knowledge on how to light Shabbat candles properly.

  • Insight into your personal role and the significance of this tradition in enhancing Shabbat's peace and sanctity.
